Agreement and adult eligibility
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and Doopee Sunset ("we," "our," or "us"). By using DoopeeSunset.com, creating an account, submitting personalization, approving a proof, or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Purchases and personalization submissions must be made by an adult who can enter a binding contract. Our customer workflow is designed for parents, legal guardians, and other authorized adults—not for children to use independently.
The service
Doopee Sunset creates made-to-order illustrated stories in which an authorized child or adult becomes the hero alongside Doopee. Depending on the product, the service may include:
- A digital personalized book, softcover with digital included, or hardcover with digital included.
- AI-assisted story and illustration production with human review.
- A private personalization link, order-progress page, family proof, digital delivery, and optional signed-in bookshelf.
- Public sample adventures and legacy interactive storytelling features.
Product descriptions at checkout or on a marketplace listing form part of your order. If a listing conflicts with these general Terms, the listing controls for product-specific price, format, and included items.
Orders, prices, and payment
Prices, available formats, shipping charges, and applicable taxes are shown before purchase. Direct-site payments are processed by Stripe. Etsy and other marketplace purchases are also subject to that marketplace's payment, buyer-protection, and order rules.
An order is accepted when payment is confirmed and we issue the order or personalization link. We may cancel and refund an order before production if the product is unavailable, the order appears fraudulent, the requested content violates these Terms, or we cannot responsibly complete the personalization.
Your personalization materials and authority
You are responsible for the names, photos, dedications, interests, likenesses, and instructions you submit ("Customer Materials"). You represent that the information is accurate and that you are either the person pictured or the parent, legal guardian, or otherwise lawfully authorized adult for every person whose information or likeness you provide.
You must not submit a photo taken from social media, a school, another family, or another source unless you have the necessary permission. Do not submit intimate, exploitative, unlawful, infringing, hateful, violent, or otherwise unsafe material.
You retain your rights in Customer Materials. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, adapt, transmit, and process those materials only as reasonably needed to create, review, deliver, support, secure, and lawfully administer the ordered product. This license does not authorize public advertising use of a customer's photo or personalized book without separate permission.
AI-assisted creation and proof approval
Stories and illustrations may be created with artificial-intelligence tools and refined through automated and human review. AI-assisted results can contain unexpected details, text errors, or imperfect likenesses. A personalized illustration is an artistic interpretation, not an identity document or a guarantee of exact resemblance.
We provide a private proof before printing or final delivery when the product workflow calls for one. You are responsible for carefully checking names, pronouns, dedication, likeness, story text, page order, and illustrations. Tell us about material errors before approval. Reasonable correction rounds are intended to fix mistakes or align the proof with the original order; they do not include a wholly new concept or replacement subject unless we agree otherwise.
Once you approve a proof, we may finalize digital files and submit physical products to print. Changes requested after approval may be impossible or may require an additional fee.
Production, delivery, cancellations, and problems
Personalized products are made to order. Before proof approval or production begins, contact us promptly if you need to request cancellation. After approval or production begins, change-of-mind cancellations and returns may not be available because the product was created specifically for you. This does not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.
If a physical book arrives damaged, has a verified printing defect, or materially differs from the approved proof, contact us with the order reference and clear photos of the issue. We may replace, reprint, repair, or refund the affected item as appropriate. Normal color variation between screens and print, minor trim variation, and an approved detail are not defects.
Creation, proof review, printing, and carrier transit all affect timing. Any delivery date is an estimate unless expressly guaranteed. If we cannot ship within the promised or legally applicable time, we will provide the delay notice, cancellation choice, and refund required by applicable law. Risk of loss transfers as provided by applicable law and the carrier's delivery record.
Digital products are delivered through a private link or bookshelf. You are responsible for saving a personal copy and keeping access links private. Contact us if a valid link expires before you retrieve the finished book.
Ownership and permitted personal use
Doopee, Doopee Sunset, our logos, characters, story worlds, templates, site design, software, and non-customer creative assets are owned by us or our licensors. Except for the limited rights below, no ownership transfers to you.
After full payment, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read, display, download, and make ordinary household use of the purchased digital or physical book. You may give the purchased copy as a personal gift. You may not resell digital files, mass reproduce the book, remove notices, publish the complete book online, create commercial merchandise, train an AI model on the content, or use Doopee or our artwork commercially without written permission.
Accounts and private access
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping sign-in methods, order links, proof links, and download links secure. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access. We may link an eligible order to the purchaser's family account after reasonable verification.
Private links are designed to expire and may be replaced. We may suspend access when needed to protect a family's privacy, investigate misuse, comply with law, or maintain the service.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to:
- Exploit a child, impersonate another person, or submit a person's likeness without authority.
- Create unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, infringing, deceptive, or dangerous content.
- Probe security, access another family's order, bypass controls, scrape content, or overload the service.
- Use bots or manipulated accounts to interfere with public story or voting features.
- Resell the service, customer links, digital files, or Doopee-branded materials without permission.
We may reject materials, pause production, remove access, or cancel and refund an order when reasonably necessary to enforce these rules or protect a person.
Messages from us
We may send transactional messages about payment, personalization, proofs, production, delivery, security, and support. Those messages are part of the service. Marketing messages are optional where required, and you can unsubscribe using the link in the message.
Service disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website, digital features, and AI-assisted creative tools are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free generation, exact artistic likeness, compatibility with every device, or permanent hosting of digital files.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Limits of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Doopee Sunset will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for a claim connected to a paid order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order. These limits do not apply where prohibited or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
Suspension, governing terms, and changes
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for a material violation, fraud, unlawful conduct, privacy or safety risk, or conduct that harms the service or another person. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as payment, licenses, ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—remain effective.
These Terms are governed by applicable United States federal and state law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections in your home jurisdiction remain available. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue in good faith.
We may update these Terms as the service or law changes. The revised date will appear above, and we will provide additional notice when required. Changes apply prospectively unless the law permits otherwise.
