Who this policy covers
Doopee Sunset ("we," "our," or "us") provides personalized children's books, private digital delivery and family bookshelf features, customer support, and limited public storytelling features. This policy describes information handled through DoopeeSunset.com and related order links.
Our purchasing and personalization tools are for adults. Children should not create accounts, place orders, or submit information directly. When a book features a child, the adult purchaser must be the child's parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have lawful authority to provide the information.
Information we collect
- Purchaser and account details: name, email address, authentication profile details, account identifiers, and family bookshelf activity.
- Order and transaction details: products selected, order reference, format, price, order status, proof decisions, shipping and fulfillment information, and customer-support messages. Stripe, Etsy, or another marketplace processes payment information; we do not store full payment-card numbers.
- Book personalization: the hero's story name, age or reading band, pronouns, interests, dedication, requested details, details to avoid, and other instructions an adult chooses to provide.
- Hero photos and artwork: an adult-authorized source photo, the illustrated character reference created from it, proof pages, final illustrations, and finished book files.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, cookies, pages viewed, interactions, approximate location derived from IP, referral information, and fraud-prevention signals.
- Optional communications: newsletter choices, service emails, survey responses, and messages sent to us.
Where information comes from
We receive information directly from the adult purchaser, from a signed-in family account, automatically from the browser or device, and from order partners such as Stripe or Etsy. Print and shipping partners may return fulfillment status, carrier, tracking, or delivery information.
How we use information
- Create the requested illustrated character, story, proof, digital book, and printed book.
- Confirm adult authorization, communicate about the order, collect proof approval, deliver files, arrange printing and shipping, and support corrections or reprints.
- Maintain an optional private family bookshelf and secure order-access links.
- Process payments, reconcile marketplace orders, prevent fraud, secure the service, and diagnose technical problems.
- Measure site performance and improve our products, workflows, and customer experience.
- Send marketing only when permitted and honor unsubscribe choices.
- Comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection, legal, and recordkeeping obligations.
Children's information and adult authorization
A child's name, photo, interests, and likeness are used only in connection with an adult-requested personalized book and related support. The submitting adult must confirm that they are the person pictured or the child's parent or legal guardian and authorize this use.
We do not sell children's personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or publicly display a customer's source photo or personalized book without separate, specific permission. A parent or legal guardian may ask to review, correct, or delete a child's information by contacting us. We may verify the requester's identity and authority before acting.
If you believe a child submitted information directly or information was provided without proper authority, contact us promptly at [email protected].
Photos and AI-assisted book production
We privately process the source photo as a visual reference for AI-assisted illustration and human review. The photo may be transmitted to contracted image-generation or production providers that need it to perform the requested service. We limit those providers to operational use and do not authorize them to use customer photos for advertising.
Source photos are stored in restricted object storage during character creation and requested identity revisions. In the normal workflow, the source photo is deleted after the reusable illustrated character reference is created. Production failures, support requests, fraud or security reviews, or a requested revision may require temporary additional retention. Finished illustrations and book files may remain available for delivery, the family bookshelf, support, and authorized reprints.
When we share information
We do not sell personal information. We disclose only what is reasonably needed to categories of providers that help us operate:
- Cloud hosting, database, private storage, security, and website analytics providers.
- AI-assisted text and image production providers used to create the ordered book.
- Payment processors and marketplaces, including Stripe and Etsy.
- Print-on-demand, shipping, and tracking providers, including Lulu or a replacement fulfillment partner.
- Authentication and email-delivery providers, including Google and Resend.
- Professional advisers, authorities, or counterparties when required by law, necessary to protect rights and safety, or connected with a business transaction.
Retention
- Source photos: retained only while reasonably needed for character creation, requested revisions, security, or support, then deleted from active source-photo storage.
- Illustrated references and finished books: retained while needed to fulfill the order, provide private access, support approved reprints, or until an eligible deletion request is completed.
- Order, payment, fulfillment, and support records: retained for business, tax, accounting, dispute, fraud-prevention, and legal requirements.
- Private access links: designed to expire; a new secure link may be issued when continued access is appropriate.
- Analytics and security logs: retained according to provider settings and operational need.
Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove information from encrypted backups, where it remains protected and expires through normal backup rotation.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; withdraw consent; object to or restrict certain processing; and appeal a denied request. You may also unsubscribe from marketing using the link in the message.
Send requests to [email protected]. We may ask for information needed to verify the purchaser, account holder, parent, guardian, or authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where legally required, we recognize applicable browser-based opt-out signals for those activities.
Cookies, analytics, and security
We use essential cookies for sign-in, private order access, preferences, and security. We also use analytics, including Google Analytics, to understand aggregate site use. Browser settings can limit cookies, although disabling essential cookies may prevent account or order features from working.
We use measures designed to protect information, including HTTPS, access controls, private object storage, expiring links, token hashing, and metadata removal during photo normalization. No system can guarantee absolute security, so please contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy as the service, providers, or law changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required.
